About Us

Engineering Prospects is the name of the Sussex Engineering Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE).

CoVEs are a government initiative, forming a key part of the Learning and Skills Council’s strategy to improve skills for employment and national competitiveness, CoVEs work closely with business and industry to focus on relevant economically important provision of a high standard. The Sussex Engineering CoVE fulfils this by providing individuals from all backgrounds access to high quality training, in specific vocational areas which include new and traditional techniques and processes.

Engineering Prospects, the Sussex Engineering CoVE, is designed to support those in work seeking career progression, new entrants to the labour market and those seeking employment by offering the very highest standards of teaching and facilities, with a diverse range of training and skills development, typically including a range of recognised qualifications as well as specialist, tailored courses.

The CoVE strives for engineering excellence to benefit both students and local industry, and aims to produce appropriately-qualified and skilled workers with excellent employment and career prospects. It gives all stakeholders confidence that the training available provides skilled workers to boost the area’s labour pool, ensuring a constant flow of well-trained engineers.
